OUR STORY
The Original Conveyor Belt Sushi Experience
The Pioneer of Kaiten Sushi in Australia
Dining Concept
Sushi Train is proud to be the very first brand to introduce “Kaiten Sushi” (Conveyer Belt Sushi) to Australia.
Our journey began in 1994 with the opening of the first restaurant in Surfers Paradise, Queensland. The name “Sushi Train” comes from our unique approach at the time of establishment: we placed sushi on model trains that ran on tracks around the restaurant. This playful and engaging idea not only delighted customers but also created a distinctive identity that set us apart from the very beginning.
Today, the term “Sushi Train” has become a commonly used phrase to describe all conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Australia. But it is important to remember, we are the origin. Sushi Train® is the original.
BRAND CONCEPT
What Makes Sushi Train Different
Conveyor Belt Sushi
The central feature of Sushi Train is the conveyor belt that continuously circles the restaurant, carrying plates of sushi.
Self-Service
Diners sit at the counter or tables alongside the conveyor belt and can pick up any plates of sushi that appeal to them as they pass by. Orders can also be placed via QR code.
Variety
Sushi Train offers a wide array of sushi, from classic nigiri and ship to modern creative rolls, plus hot side dishes, rice bowls, and noodles. Only carefully selected ingredients are used.
Pricing
The price of each plate is determined by the colour of the plate, making it easy to keep track of the bill.
Interactive Experience
The visual aspect of the conveyor belt and the ability to choose your own sushi make it a more interactive and enjoyable dining experience.
